Read of the Week: Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

May 26, 2017

Okay, Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Sorry it took me so long to get through this one, it was not from lack of interest I promise! It was actually because my brain was occupied with ideas for my own book.

So anywho, this book was amazing! The writing was absolutely beautiful. I was sucked in right from the first few paragraphs which is something that doesn't happen that often. I will say that it felt like the author did a lot of set up that started out really interesting and just as you begin to get bored she throws a ton of reveals in your face. The first hundred pages of the book was, a hint here, a hint there, and then about 115 pages in it's like BLAM BLAM BLAM! And you lose your freaking mind.

Admittedly there are moments that almost start to get boring but if you stick with it you are most likely pages away from super exciting things. So don't stop reading!

I have to say that this book was not what I expected it to be but I still really enjoyed it. Far superior writing than the last series I read. I would give it like a four out of five.

Check back next week to read my review of book two of this series 'Days of Blood and Starlight.'

Until then, here's an inspirational quote to get you through:
