Week Fourteen: GitRdone

May 21, 2017

^ Look at this guy, that is freaking high. He didn't get up there by sitting on his bum. ^

Have you ever had those weeks where you get down on yourself because you accomplished nothing in regards to your dream/goal/aspirations? Well, let me tell you what my friend, there will also be weeks where you accomplish so much in one week that you’re like ‘BOOM, I’m a freaking beast!’ And yes, in case you are wondering that WAS me this last week.

Not only did I get through my goal of figuring out what the heck was going to happen in chapter three, I ended up writing summaries for SIX additional chapters! That’s right. I am now up to chapter nine and I’m feeling pretty great about it. I love being productive. But I also just love that feeling of being creative and moving toward my goal.

I read a quote once that said something like, the car will never move if you don’t start the engine. There was more to it than that but basically it was saying that you’re never going to get anywhere in your project or whatever it is you’re working on if you don’t get the creative juices flowing. That’s what I did this last week. I started thinking about my book, CONSTANTLY. Like all the freaking time. Eventually, I was getting idea after idea and jotting notes on random pieces of paper so I didn’t forget later. It was an amazing feeling. I was excited again when recently I felt like I was getting into a slump.

So, I’m sorry friends, but that’s all I got for you this week. Focus on your project and get the juices flowing. Make it a priority and eventually it won’t feel like work because you’ll be so excited about the progress you’re making!

I do have to tell you that due to the fact that reading takes up SO much of my time, I have decided to start giving myself a week and half to read books instead of just a week. So you will be seeing my new book review posts go up on Wednesday’s instead of the weekends. I know I know I’m sad too. But I don’t want anything getting in the way of this new burst of creative energy I have going on.

So until next time, here’s an inspirational quote to get you through:

"I'd rather attempt to do something great and fail than attempt to do nothing and succeed.” – Robert H Schuller
